Richard Carrico started his career working as an associate at his local The UPS Store after attending business school. He found his passion in interacting with customers, so when his boss approached him to partner to buy the location, Richard knew he wanted to take this opportunity. He has now been serving his Atlanta customers for over 25 years.
The UPS Store franchise offers Richard many advantages. They have the brand-name recognition which provides them with a large pool of customers, support from the national brand, and have implemented new technology that he otherwise would not have access too.
Richard’s customers are all kinds of people from families mailing care packages to their children in college to antique dealers mailing pieces of furniture or art across the country. He believes it is essential that he is there in person to get to know these customers and their stories so he can provide a personal touch and show that he is standing behind his work. Richard is proud of their good reputation in town. He knows how important it is to satisfy the customer to keep them coming back. This approach clearly works as Richard has customers who have moved across town and still come to The UPS Store in Buckhead because they trust that their package will be delivered safely.
During the pandemic they did everything they could to be able to serve their customers by continuing, while keeping their employees’ health in mind. They followed proper protocols like masking and sanitizing, which allowed them to remain open, except for one weekend. Their persistence and hard work is evident their dedication to their customers and their customers dedication to them.
