The International Franchise Association (IFA) protects, enhances, and promotes franchising—the local businesses that are driving our economy forward. In fact, recent research has shown that local franchises create 2.3 times as many jobs as comparable non-franchise businesses and produce sales that are 1.8 times higher. The franchise model is working—for our families, our neighbors, and our communities.
From our founding, the IFA set out with the goal of serving the national franchising community, and eventually grew into an unmatched global resource that advocates for and protects our members and their local businesses. Today, we work relentlessly to advance the future of franchising, the best economic business model to create prosperity and opportunity for people from all walks of life.
IFA’s strength is built from the collective power of our members, and the power of franchising can easily be found in their stories. Our members are helping veterans transition from military to civilian life, exposing them to new and exciting career paths. They are creating opportunities for people from all different backgrounds to improve their livelihoods. They are investing in their local communities by giving their time, resources, and hearts back to those around them. And they are creating more equitable and inclusive teams that support employees and drive success.
These local businesses contribute to a stronger society and improve the lives of workers and communities alike. Never has this been more important than as we reemerge from a tumultuous year. Families counting on sustained progress can rest assured that America’s 730,000 local franchise businesses are open for opportunity and ready to help in every community.
We lift up our member stories so that you’ll know what we know—that franchising empowers local business owners to create opportunities for themselves and those around them.
Welcome to Open for Opportunity.
