Open for Opportunity Day in Atlanta - Open for Opportunity

With over 31,000 franchise businesses generating $33 billion in the state, Georgia is one of the leading states for franchise growth. The Open for Opportunity Roadshow stop in Atlanta showcased this vibrant landscape, bringing together local lawmakers and industry leaders at Inspire Brands, Floor Coverings International, and Chick-fil-A headquarters, highlighting the immense value of franchising in the state. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp even declared May 13, 2024, as Open for Opportunity Day through an official proclamation.

Joining at the Inspire Brands event were six Members of Congress including Reps. Sanford Bishop, Buddy Carter, Hank Johnson, Barry Loudermilk, Rich McCormick, and Nikema Williams – as well as a number of local business and community leaders and local franchisees to share the story of franchising. Floor Coverings International hosted Open for Opportunity for another robust discussion with several state and local elected officials, as well as Rep. Lucy McBath, to learn more about the brand and the work their franchisees are doing in the area. Concluding at Chick-fil-A headquarters, IFA presented a contribution to the Atlanta Area Food Bank, which helped provide 22,500 meals to people in need in the Atlanta area.

Atlanta’s status as a franchising hub reflects the ways franchising keeps the American dream alive, providing avenues for success through small business ownership. Franchising is a catalyst for fostering entrepreneurship, job creation, economic prosperity, and community growth.
