With their military background, Jessica and Tyler Gustafson liked the familiarity of having a prepackaged business deal with an included operations manual. The Gustafsons’ passion for health and wellness led them to be Discover Strength’s first franchisees in Wayzata, Minnesota.
Because of the power of the franchise business model, Jessica and Tyler have autonomy in their business. They have a general manager and five employees, yet they work together with Discover Strength and are supported by the franchise structure.
The Gustafsons believe that veterans are among the perfect candidates to be franchisees. They were well prepared to run a successful franchise because of the standards and guidelines they were expected to practice in the military.
“Sometimes we sit and think, gosh we provide for six families!” noted Tyler. Tyler knows franchising is a blessing and franchising has a significant impact on their community.
