Ericka Garza, IFA Board Member - Open for Opportunity

Ericka Garza, IFA Board Member and Chairwoman of the Hispanic Latino Franchise Leadership Council, has built her career on advocating for underrepresented minorities in franchising. With a background working in large corporations, Ericka understands the challenges that minorities often face in accessing opportunities. She shares, “I have been in corporations where it has been very difficult to give opportunities to under-respected minorities.” However, franchising became a game-changer for her and others.

“Today franchising has changed the landscape of giving opportunities to underrepresented minorities,” she reflects, emphasizing the industry’s unique ability to empower individuals. Ericka is passionate about her role as a franchisor, believing it’s not just about providing tools and resources but also about actively opening doors. She has played a pivotal role in launching the Hispanic Latino Franchise Leadership Council to encourage growth and engagement among the Latino franchising community. For Ericka, it’s also about paying it forward. She believes franchise owners have a responsibility to pass the torch to prospective entrepreneurs. “Being an advocate and speaking up for people in the franchising world is key,” she states. With her continued dedication, Ericka remains a strong voice for inclusion, paving the way for future leaders in the sector.
