When Clint Ehlers job moved, but he didn’t want to, he had to get creative. Becoming a local franchise owner in the FASTSIGNS network provided him the opportunity to remain in the community where his family had roots and the flexibility to determine his future path. After a lengthy career in marketing and with a family in construction, creating branded materials to help companies make their statement seemed like a natural fit.
From 2007 – 2012, Clint grew his local FASTSIGNS in Culver City, California. After his daughter graduated high school, he felt that he too could spread his wings. He sold his FASTSIGNS and moved across the country to the Philadelphia suburbs where—given his experience with FASTSIGNS—he had the opportunity to again go into business for himself but not by himself.
Clint shared that the support from FASTSIGNS HQ and other local owner operators made it easy for him to succeed: “There is no issue I could possibly confront that someone else in my network hasn’t already addressed.” And he takes that same community spirit when recruiting and growing people that join his FASTSIGNS team.
For all his business success, Clint is most proud of the team at his two stores in the Philadelphia suburbs. He calls them family. While he has eight open positions, it is important to Clint to find the right fit for his FASTSIGNS family. Everyone on the team interviews the candidates, and everyone—together—hires the right candidate.
Upon joining Clint’s FASTSIGNS family, team members enjoy the standard training, healthcare and paid leave benefits, but they also get something more: Clint pays his team members to volunteer in the community, and when it is time for them to leave the nest, they leave with highly sought, transferable skills in an incredibly competitive job market. Recently, a long-time team member planned a move across the country. When she arrived at her new home in Phoenix, she called on a local FASTSIGNS and was offered an opportunity to continue her career with the FASTSIGNS family on the spot.
Clint Ehlers is a FASTSIGNS owner, and he is Open for Opportunity.
