Alex Johnson is a proud second-generation franchisee of Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon. His parents ventured into the franchising world to teach their four sons a good work ethic and morals. Watching his parents and their hard work from a young age have instilled a strong work ethic in him. Now he is able to pass on those lessons to his employees.
For many of his employees, working at Auntie Anne’s or Cinnabon is their first job. As a franchise, they pull their workforce from the local community, and have provided jobs to hundreds of people, ranging from high school students to people who have immigrated to the U.S.
Alex speaks highly about one of his employees in particular, his operations director who started working as a mall janitor after coming to the country at a young age. He then went on to work at one of his locations, and the franchise provided him with the opportunity to advance his career and build a livelihood for himself. Realizing how much of the day-to-day work his parents were still doing, he added district managers and mangers at each location, giving more employees the opportunities to rise in the ranks. Through his efforts Alex was able to provide more jobs and allow the franchise to expand because of the stable infrastructure he built.
In addition to providing opportunities for growth and career advancement, Alex is proud that his franchise is a locally owned and operated business – using local vendors for their services and making every effort to support the people around them.
